Meet Our Principal

Greetings Bengal Nation!

Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year!  I hope everyone had a relaxing and enjoyable Summer break.  As August quickly comes to a close, we are eager to welcome our scholars back to the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Learning Center for an outstanding 2025-2026 school year.  In addition, we want to ensure our new scholars feel right at home.  This is always one of my favorite times of the year!  I love the energy and excitement of beginning each new school year.  Our theme this year is "Passport to the Arts"  We want our scholars to look forward to coming to school each day.

I am looking forward to serving you as your Principal.  I have had twenty-plus amazing years in education.  Twelve years as an Elementary Classroom Teacher, five years as an Instructional Math Coach. I have a simple educational philosophy and that is All kids can learn when you show love.

In line with our SEL efforts (Socio-Emotional Learning), we will support our scholar’s emotional health and equip them with tools that will enhance their ability to manage stress in positive and healthy ways.

As we continue to focus on student achievement, we will provide a variety of academic and educational experiences that promote student growth and learning.  If you have not had the opportunity to visit our beautiful campus, please see your scholar’s Tuesday folder for upcoming events.

I am also pleased to share some great news from the Texas Education Agency.  We are now a B+rated campus with 5 Academic Distinctions in Math, Reading, Closing the Achievement Gap, Academic Growth, and Post-Secondary Readiness.  This is a tremendous achievement.

It is truly a privilege to be a part of a community where parents, teachers, and scholars care for each other and strive to build positive relationships that support academic and social growth.  Please feel free to contact me at 972.502.8100 or roadams@dallasisd.org

Once again, welcome back!  Let’s make it another great year in Sunny South Dallas!

With gratitude,

Romikianta Sneed

Principal
